Sister Spotlight: Siena Hayman

Siena Hayman is one of our newest members of Gamma Phi. She is a freshman from Boca Raton, Florida. She is studying criminology and is a pre-law student. She chose to attend Florida State because of the amazing criminology program and because she wanted to receive an overall good education. She also loved the campus when she visited.

Siena decided to go through recruitment so she could find her home at Florida State and so she could connect to others that have similar values to her. She also loved the idea of having a strong support system to help her through her college journey and even beyond. She is happy that she was able to find this with Gamma Phi.

One of Siena’s greatest passions is playing hockey which she started playing at only eight years old. She played on various travel teams growing up. She went to high school in Canada for her junior and senior year where she played on her school’s girls hockey team as well. “I have always loved the sport and made many of my best friends from it,” said Siena.

Recently, Siena founded Florida State’s first ever women’s ice hockey program where she currently serves as President. The team has already started to gain massive involvement from many excited girls here at FSU. Siena says this is a very special opportunity as this team will be the first group of girls to ever play hockey for FSU.

They hope by next year they will be able to join the same division that the boy’s hockey team at FSU currently plays in. Starting this spring, they will be starting monthly practices. To get involved, you can contact fsuwhockey@gmail.com or by visiting @seminoleswhockey on Instagram. You can also reach out to Siena directly.

We are so proud of Siena and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
